The Grumpy March

“The Grumpy March” is a longways set folk dance originally written by 12-year-old Ruth Ungar and later simplified by Peter Amidon. Ruth’s dad Jay Ungar wrote the tune “Wizard’s Walk.” This dance can be found in the book Sashay The Donut by The New England Dancing Masters, and the song “Wizard’s Walk” as recorded by NEDM can be used for accompaniment. The video below features students from Boone Meadow Elementary, led by their teacher William C Doublestein, during the 2018-2019 school year.
