Privacy Policy

Bow Tie Music LLC (“Bow Tie Music,” “we”) runs bowtiemusic.net. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- When you buy something: your name, email address, and the state and ZIP code you’re buying from (needed to charge the right sales tax). If your school pays by purchase order, we also keep the PO number and school name.
- Payments: card payments are handled by WooPayments (powered by Stripe). Your card number goes straight to them; we never see or store it.
- Visits: we count page visits with Independent Analytics, which runs on our own server, doesn’t use cookies, and doesn’t identify you. Our free apps count how often they’re used with a random number saved in your browser, never your name, email, or IP address.
- When you share a video: your name, state, school district (if you give it), and a link to your channel. These are shown with your video. We also ask for your email address, which is never shown; we use it only to tell you when your video is added, or to ask you about it.
- Messages you send us: if you email us or use a form, we keep what you send so we can answer it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We don’t run advertising trackers.
- We don’t email you marketing. You’ll only get emails about your own orders (receipts, download links, invoices) or a video you shared.
How we use it
To deliver your downloads, send receipts and invoices, answer questions, collect the sales tax we owe, and keep the site secure.
Videos
Our videos, and the videos other teachers share, are hosted on YouTube. When you play one, YouTube may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. Product page videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
Our free apps
Class Dashboard, the Lyric Video Generator, and the Music Tools (Metronome, Tuner, Key Changer, Speed Adjuster, Vocal Remover) keep your work on your own device. Student names and class information you type into Class Dashboard are never sent to us. Music files you open in the Music Tools are processed on your device and never uploaded.
Children
Our videos are made for classrooms, but this website is meant for teachers and families. Children shouldn’t make purchases or send us personal information. If you believe a child has, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Keeping or deleting your information
Order records are kept as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete anything else about you. Use the Contact page.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top.
