The Grand March
“The Grand March” is a perfect closing folk dance where dancers work together to create a succession of intricate shapes. This version uses a chorus figure to separate each of the three shapes (the spiral, the tunnel, and the grand march). This dance can be found in the book Sashay The Donut by The New England Dancing Masters, and the song “Old Time Reel Medley” can be used for accompaniment. This video features students from Boone Meadow Elementary, led by their teacher William C Doublestein, during the 2023-2024 school year.

Thank you for all the work you do! I’ve followed you for several years and I really appreciate your content. Have you considered making a video that outlines the teaching process of a more complicated dance like this one? I would find that so helpful. Thank you again!
You’re welcome Shane, I’m glad its been helpful to you! Yes I definitely hope to, it’s on my list 🙂
