Movement

In this collection of videos, you will find different examples of how to incorporate movement into the general music classroom. Under Folk Dancing, there are student examples of Circle Dances, Longways Set Dance, and Scattered Formation Dances. Each of these dance sections is further broken down into three categories: Lower Elementary (Grades K-1), Middle Elementary (Grades 2-3), and Upper Elementary (Grades 4-5), to make it easier for you to find the developmentally appropriate dance for your students.

In Creative Movement and Movement Props, you will find examples of how to incorporate various props, such as stretchy band, flashlights, and scarves into your movement activities to allow you your students to experience their own artistry and creativity.
